TEFLmasters is a legitimate TEFL company that has sold accredited online TEFL courses since late 2020. Our courses are accredited by OTCAC, we're a CPD-verified provider on the UK Register of Learning Providers, and our graduates review us publicly on Go Overseas, GoAbroad and Trustpilot. A response to trustedteflreviews.com
"TEFL Masters is not legit": the claims, and the facts
In May 2026, trustedteflreviews.com published a post called "TEFL Masters is not legit", attributed to a reviewer named Lisa. We've never received a complaint about anything like the events it describes, and if any of them had happened, we'd expect the person to have emailed us. Here's each claim, next to evidence you can check yourself.
ClaimOur accreditor "TCAC" isn't legitimate
FactOur accreditor is OTCAC, not "TCAC". OTCAC is an independent accreditor that lists our courses under reference 20210112A and accredits several other TEFL providers that have been established for over a decade. Check the OTCAC list
ClaimThe UKRLP is just a database
FactThat part is right, and we say so ourselves. Our UK registration (UKPRN 10089401) shows who runs TEFLmasters. It isn't an accreditation, and it doesn't make our courses government-regulated.
ClaimThe certificate is a Canva template
FactEvery certificate has a certificate number and a QR code that opens the graduate's online record, so employers can check it's real in seconds. See how verification works
Claim"120 hours" is one afternoon of study
FactThe 120-hour course has 24 units plus a midterm and final exam, more than 1,500 assessment questions and a 75% pass mark. Most people take 3 to 6 weeks part-time. Open a full lesson and time it yourself
ClaimThe course text is AI-generated and light on information
FactOur courses are written by English teachers working in international schools and universities, and checked with Grammarly. Reviewers on Go Overseas and Trustpilot describe the course as going "so much deeper" than they expected.
ClaimThere's zero support
FactEvery email to support@teflmasters.com gets a reply, usually within 2 hours and always within 24. Premium and longer courses include a tutor. One Trustpilot reviewer says staff replied "in less than 20 minutes".
ClaimThe certificate isn't accepted for jobs
FactGraduates have used their certificates for teaching visas in South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan, and found work with EF English, Cambly, VIPKid, Preply and EPIK. No graduate has ever told us a certificate was refused.
ClaimIt's way too cheap
FactWe're affordable because we're teachers, not a sales company. Several large providers list prices of $400 to $560 and then sell at 60 to 75% off. See 13 courses compared
Who is behind trustedteflreviews.com?
Check who runs a review site before you trust it
The site doesn't say who owns it or whether it's paid by any TEFL provider. Its pages promote TEFL Online Pro, with a "Teachers' Choice Award" and a "$100 OFF" banner linking to teflonlinepro. Several independent sources online cast doubt on the review site. Read them and decide for yourself. We don't want to speculate or be drawn into an argument: the facts on this page can all be checked, and you're smart enough to judge them.

Why you might read that TEFLmasters isn't legit
It's sensible to be careful with any cheap online course. Here's where doubts usually come from, and how to judge them.
- "It's too cheap to be real"Price isn't a measure of quality. Big providers often sell at 60 to 75% off their list price, and our costs are low because we're teachers, not a sales company. You can always try our free lesson to see if our quality is what we claim it to be.
- Forum and Reddit threadsMany people rightly warn about certificate mills. Check whether a comment is about TEFLmasters or cheap courses in general, and whether the writer has taken our course. You can always email us to check our response time.
- "Review" sites that sell a rival courseSome TEFL review sites don't say who runs them and promote one provider's course. Trust platforms like Go Overseas, GoAbroad and Trustpilot, where real students leave reviews.
