Quick Navigation
1.1 All material on the TEFLmasters website is the property of TEFLmasters. Copying, sharing, or reproducing any material beyond the provided social media sharing buttons is strictly prohibited.
1.2 It is free to try Lesson 20 without inputting any personal details, but this content and material remains the intellectual property of TEFLmasters, and condition 1.1 applies in full.
2.1 TEFLmasters invites students over 18 years of age with moderate to fluent English proficiency to enroll in our courses.
2.2 To enroll in any TEFL course, students must provide valid personal information, including:
- First and family names (as they appear on passport or official identification)
- Valid email address
- Full billing address
2.3 It is critical that names provided match the student's passport or the name under which the student will apply for TEFL employment.
2.4 TEFLmasters may refuse to change a name on certification that is notably different from the name provided at course sign-up.
2.5 TEFLmasters reserves the right to refuse certification to any student suspected of completing the course on behalf of another person, based on name discrepancies or other evidence. In such cases, payment may be refunded and no certification will be provided. Each case will be treated individually and without bias.
3.1 TEFLmasters offers several accredited online TEFL/TESOL course packages. Current sale prices are:

3.2 Base prices are displayed in USD ($). Other currencies may be available at checkout.
3.3 Course packages may differ in access period, tutor support, multimedia coverage, practical assignments, job-support resources, specialist content, and other extras. Students should check the specific package description before purchase.
3.4 All TEFLmasters TEFL/TESOL course packages listed above are accredited. Accreditation does not guarantee acceptance by every employer, school, platform, ministry, visa office, or other reviewing organization.
3.5 Any student who accesses paid material without payment may have access removed and is not entitled to certification until full payment has been received.
4.1 TEFLmasters courses are online, self-paced courses requiring internet access.
4.2 Course content is divided into lessons and may include written teaching content, video or audio instruction, quizzes, lesson flows, scenario-based tasks, and other learning activities, depending on the package purchased.
4.3 The $34 120-Hour Essential TEFL Course contains the same accredited 120-hour core curriculum and assessment framework as the other accredited 120-hour option, but is a reduced-support package. It has limited video coverage rather than full video/audio/text coverage, includes technical support only, has a 4-month completion period, and does not include the Job Support Bundle.
4.4 Higher course packages may include fuller video/audio/text coverage, broader support, specialist modules, job-support resources, practical assignments, or additional course hours, as stated on the relevant course page. The 168-hour course includes some AI narration, while the 120-hour course has full human audio. The 220-hour course contains a Business TEFL component that currently has no audio-video narration. The current pricing reflects these video offerings.
4.5 All required lessons and assessments for the purchased package must be completed satisfactorily before certification is issued.
4.6 Free trial content does not include all paid-course assessments or package features.
4.7 TEFLmasters may update, improve, reorganize, or replace individual learning resources while maintaining the learning outcomes and overall standard of the accredited course purchased, whereby text is the intended teaching medium, and video is supplementary as a teaching aid. Where video is not available in certain regions, TEFLmasters may offer trainees a one-off $10 course refund, but may ask for proof of this circumstance via a screenshot. Video functionality not working, either temporarily or regionally, outside the 14-day refundable period will not constitute a technical failure or eligible reason to seek a refund. Videos are provided as supplementary teaching tools, not as a guaranteed medium of content delivery.
5.1 Students must achieve a minimum score of 75% on required unit and lesson quizzes and complete all other mandatory assessments for their purchased package to the required standard.
5.2 Students are allowed unlimited attempts on ordinary unit quizzes unless a specific assessment states otherwise. Midterm and final tests allow a maximum of 3 resits each.
5.3 Courses sold with Practical Assignments include four tutor-assessed practical submissions: 2 lesson plans and 2 demo lesson recordings. The 120-hour and 168-hour Practical Assignments versions use the same practical-assignment format.
5.4 Lesson-plan feedback is normally provided within 24 hours of submission. Students should allow up to 48 hours, including during busy or holiday periods.
5.5 Feedback on demo lesson recordings is normally provided within 72 hours of submission.
5.6 Practical assignments are assessed as satisfactory (‘Passed’) or not yet satisfactory (‘Not Yet’). Retakes are limited as described in Section 21.
5.7 Quiz results are not rounded up. A score of 74.99% or below does not meet a 75% pass requirement.
5.8 All assessed work must comply with the Academic Integrity & AI Use Policy in Section 6.
6.1 Authenticity Requirements
To ensure the value and credibility of your TEFL certification, all assignment submissions must be your own work and reflect your own thinking, experience, and learning.
6.2 Acceptable Use of AI Tools
Students may use AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) as learning aids in the following ways:
- To understand difficult concepts or terminology
- To receive feedback on draft work before submission
- To check grammar, spelling, or clarity of ideas you have already written
- To brainstorm ideas or approaches to assignments
6.3 Prohibited Use of AI Tools
- Submitting AI-generated text as your own work
- Copying and pasting AI outputs without substantial original thought and personalization
- Having AI write your assignments, lesson plans, reflections, or other assessed work for you
- Using AI to generate examples or personal anecdotes instead of drawing from your own experience
6.4 Required Transparency
If you use AI tools to assist with any part of an assignment (beyond basic grammar checking), you must:
- Include a brief note in your submission stating: "I used [AI tool name] to help with [specific task]"
- Ensure all core ideas, examples, and reflections are your own
- Be prepared to discuss your submission if requested
6.5 Detection and Verification
TEFLmasters reserves the right to review submissions for patterns consistent with AI-generated content, use AI detection tools to flag submissions for closer review, and request additional evidence of authenticity, including follow-up questions, specific personal examples, brief video or audio explanations, or resubmission with additional personal detail.
6.6 Consequences of Academic Dishonesty
First Offense: Assignment flagged and student notified; resubmission of authentic work required within 7 days; guidance provided; no penalty if resubmitted authentically.
Second Offense: Assignment receives zero marks; student must redo the assignment under closer scrutiny; a warning is formally noted in the student file; certificate withheld until resolved. A third offense will result in the practical assignments component being removed from the student’s options, and they will instead be granted access to the next tier of automated course content (e.g., 120-hour TEFL with practicals would move to 168-hour TEFL without practicals), and no refund difference would be provided (as detailed further in the next paragraph).
Pattern of AI Use or Refusal to Comply: Student may be removed from the assignments course, offered transfer to the non-assignment course version with a partial refund (Section 6.7).
6.7 Course Downgrade Option for Academic Integrity Violations
Students may be offered a transfer to the standard (non-assignment) version of their enrolled course. No refund is available in the case(s) stated above because the in this extreme case, students would already have submitted more than one assignment, feedback would have been given, and an adequate course transfer would have been made available.
Example: A student enrolled in the 120-hour course with Assignments ($79),who has submitted 2 assignment attempts and is transferred to the 168-hour Standard course ($59), would receive $0 refund due to tutor time already spent plus the course hours upgrade.
Students retain access to completed coursework and quizzes; certification will reflect standard course completion only. This option is offered at TEFLmasters' discretion and is not guaranteed. Accepting this transfer term waives further claims related to the original enrollment, though this does not affect any statutory rights that cannot be waived by agreement.
6.8 Why Academic Integrity Matters
These assignments are designed to develop skills you will use in real classrooms. If AI does the work for you, you will not develop the teaching competencies necessary to succeed as an English language teacher. Our certification's value depends on employers trusting that graduates have completed the training themselves.
6.9 Questions About AI Use
If you are unsure whether your intended use of AI is acceptable, please contact us before submitting.
7.1 The $34 120-Hour Essential TEFL Course must be completed within 4 months of the original enrollment date.
7.2 Unless a product page or enrollment confirmation states otherwise, other TEFLmasters course packages must be completed within 12 months of the original enrollment date.
7.3 Practical assignments included within a 120-hour or 168-hour Practical Assignments course must be completed within the access period applying to that purchased course.
7.4 The separate 24-Hour Practical Teaching TEFL Add-On is governed by the completion rules in Section 15.
7.5 Students who need additional time should contact TEFLmasters before access expires. Any extension offered, including its length, fee, or conditions, will be confirmed by TEFLmasters at the time of the request.
7.6 Once a course access period has expired, continued access, progress restoration, or an extension cannot be guaranteed.
8.1 Successful completion of an eligible TEFLmasters course includes digital PDF certification with QR-code verification and applicable accreditation information. A digital transcript or verification record may also be included as part of the current certificate bundle.
8.2 Self-print digital certificates are included with eligible completed courses and may be printed by the graduate.
8.3 Names on certificates must match enrollment information as set out in Section 2.
8.4 Where a student successfully completes a course package that includes tutor-assessed practical assignments, the certificate will state that practical assignments were undertaken.
8.5 The practical-assignment statement in 8.4 applies only where the required practical-assignment component has been completed satisfactorily. If a student receives the standard course certificate under Section 21 after not successfully completing the practical-assignment component, the certificate will not state that practical assignments were undertaken.
8.6 Practical assignments consisting of lesson plans and demo lesson recordings are different from the separate 24-Hour Practical Teaching TEFL Add-On. Completion of practical assignments does not by itself certify 24 hours of live teaching practice.
8.7 Digital certificates are normally issued promptly after all required course components have been completed and verified. Students who experience an unexpected delay should contact support@teflmasters.com.
8.8 A courier-delivered hardcopy certificate may be available for an additional administration and courier fee. Hardcopy certificates are not necessarily required for notarization or apostille.
9.1 All certificates include QR code verification linking to our online verification portal.
9.2 As of November 16, 2025, all verifications are processed through a central verification system (previously each certificate had its own dedicated page).
9.3 To verify a certificate, third parties scan the QR code or visit our verification page and input the certificate number and graduate family name.
9.4 Verified information displays the graduate's transcript and course completion details.
10.1 As a consumer, you have a statutory right to cancel your course purchase within 14 days of payment for a full refund, in accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and equivalent EU consumer protection law.
10.2 At checkout, you will be asked to confirm that you wish to begin accessing the course immediately, and that you understand this may affect your cancellation rights once the service has begun. If you do not provide this confirmation, standard delivery timelines will apply before access is granted.
10.3 If you cancel within the 14-day period after having accessed course content, you remain entitled to a refund, but TEFLmasters may deduct an amount that reflects the proportion of the course you have used, up to the value already delivered. This proportion is calculated with reference to the number of quizzes accessed and assignments received, as set out in 10.4, and will never exceed the total price paid.
10.4 Where a proportionate deduction applies under 10.3, this is calculated at $5 USD per quiz accessed and $5 USD per assignment received, reflecting the educational resources and tutor time already provided.
10.5 After the 14-day period has expired, refunds are not offered as a matter of course, but TEFLmasters may consider a refund in exceptional circumstances, such as an unresolved technical fault not fixed within 2 days, or other circumstances reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
10.6 Students are encouraged to try the free lesson before purchasing, to help ensure the course format suits their learning needs.
10.7 Where a student has previously received a refund from TEFLmasters and subsequently purchases a further course, any new refund request within the 14-day period will still be honored in line with statutory rights, though TEFLmasters may apply additional review to such requests and may deduct applicable card processing fees and any proportionate usage amounts under 10.4.
10.8 This additional review process is intended to prevent misuse of the refund system while ensuring all customers retain their full legal entitlements.
10.9 Refunds are processed through the original payment method used for purchase. Card processing fees charged by the payment provider, where applicable, are the responsibility of the refunded student.
11.1 Full refunds are available within 14 days of enrollment if no documentation has been submitted, in line with your statutory cancellation rights.
11.2 Once documentation has been submitted for review, this reflects a service that has begun at your request, and refunds will generally not be available beyond the 14-day period, except where required by law.
11.3 No refunds are provided for failure to complete teaching hours within the specified deadline. Free extensions are available instead; please contact us to request one.
11.4 No refunds are provided where submitted documentation is rejected for not meeting requirements, though amendments and resubmission are generally accepted at no extra cost for the first attempt.
11.5 See Section 15 for complete Practical Add-On terms.
12.1 After sign-up, students are automatically enrolled and logged into the 120-hour TEFL course (the first mandated course, even for longer programs) and transferred to the student area.
12.2 Students can otherwise access their course via the student area page, locating their purchased course, and clicking to enroll.
12.3 Students must keep passwords secure and must not share login credentials. Login is via email address.
13.1 Support entitlement depends on the course package purchased.
13.2 The $34 120-Hour Essential TEFL Course includes technical support only. It does not include the same full tutor/course support or Job Support Bundle provided with higher packages.
13.3 Other course packages include the support stated on their respective product or course pages. TEFLmasters staff may provide course-related and technical assistance as included in the purchased package.
13.4 General support responses are often provided quickly, but response times may be longer during evenings, weekends, unusually busy periods, or global holiday periods.
13.5 For courses with Practical Assignments, tutor feedback on lesson plans is normally provided within 24 hours. Students should allow a maximum of 48 hours, particularly during holiday periods.
13.6 Tutor feedback on demo lesson recordings is normally provided within 72 hours.
13.7 Feedback timeframes begin when a complete, viewable submission has been successfully received. If a file, link, recording, or document cannot be accessed, the review period may begin once the student provides a working submission.
14.1 TEFLmasters provides accredited online TEFL/TESOL training designed for international English-teaching contexts.
14.2 TEFLmasters certificates include verification features and applicable accreditation information. Certificates may also be notarized or apostilled where required.
14.3 Acceptance is always determined by the employer, school, platform, ministry, visa office, regulator, or other organization reviewing the qualification.
14.4 TEFLmasters does not guarantee employment, visa approval, or acceptance by every organization worldwide.
14.5 Students are responsible for checking any specific qualification, course-hour, practicum, degree, nationality, visa, or regulatory requirement that applies to the role or country they intend to pursue.
14.6 TEFLmasters cannot be held responsible for future changes to employer, platform, immigration, ministry, or regulatory requirements that are outside TEFLmasters' control.
15.1 Program Overview
The Practical TEFL Add-On consists of a minimum of 20 hours of documented teaching practice, 4 hours of structured reflection and self-assessment, and submission of required documentation for verification and sign-off. It is supplementary to core TEFL certification, requiring separate enrollment and payment of $79 USD (lower if bundled). Successful completion results in a Practical TEFL Certificate endorsed by TEFLmasters.
15.2 Student Responsibilities
Students are solely responsible for sourcing their own teaching practice opportunities, ensuring a safe and appropriate environment, obtaining necessary permissions or visas, and complying with local laws.
Teaching practice must involve direct instruction of English as a foreign or second language to non-native speakers aged 16 or over (or with appropriate safeguarding for younger learners, see 15.7), conducted in person or via live synchronous sessions, and completed within 12 months of enrollment.
Required documentation includes a teaching log, verification letters, a minimum of 4 complete lesson plans, a 4-hour reflection journal, and a minimum of 3 pieces of supporting evidence.
All documentation must adhere to the Academic Integrity policy in Section 6. Lesson plans, reflections, and logs must be authentic and personally completed. AI may assist with brainstorming or grammar checking only, with disclosure required per 6.4.
All documentation must be submitted within 12 months of enrollment. Extensions may be requested in writing and are granted at TEFLmasters' discretion.
15.3 TEFLmasters Responsibilities
TEFLmasters provides guidelines and templates, clear criteria for acceptable contexts, structured reflection prompts, review and verification of documentation, and certificate issuance upon successful completion. Documentation is reviewed within 2 business days; incomplete submissions may be resubmitted once within 30 days at no charge. A $20 USD resubmission review fee may apply to further resubmissions beyond the first.
15.4 Limitations of Liability
TEFLmasters does not arrange, facilitate, or guarantee placements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TEFLmasters is not liable for loss, damage, or harm arising from teaching practice activities that are organized and undertaken independently by the student. Students are responsible for their own insurance and safeguarding compliance. Arrangements with third-party schools or organizations are independent of TEFLmasters. Nothing in this clause excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
15.5 Verification and Academic Integrity
Students must certify that all documentation is truthful and accurate. TEFLmasters may contact verification sources, request clarification, or conduct interviews. Falsified documentation will result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of fees, withdrawal of any certificates already issued, possible legal action, and a permanent ban from all TEFLmasters programs.
15.6 Acceptable Teaching Contexts
Approved contexts include language schools, community centers, university programs, corporate training, online tutoring platforms, private tutoring, volunteer programs, schools, and tutoring of friends or family who are second-language English speakers (with video or audio evidence). Contexts that do not qualify include informal conversation practice, language exchange arrangements, pre-recorded content, non-English tutoring, teaching native speakers, or unpaid observation without direct teaching responsibility.
15.7 Safeguarding and Child Protection
Teaching learners under 16 requires appropriate background checks, the presence of a responsible adult, adherence to the host organization's safeguarding policies, and no unsupervised contact with minors. Safeguarding training is encouraged. Any concerns must be reported to local authorities; TEFLmasters is not a reporting body.
15.8 Practical Add-On Certificate
Successful completion results in a digital self-print certificate with QR verification, stating the student's name, completion of the Practical TEFL Add-On, date of completion, and accreditation details. Replacement certificates cost $20 USD.
15.9 Intellectual Property, Practical Add-On
Students retain ownership of lesson plans, reflections, and materials they create. By submitting documentation, students grant TEFLmasters permission to use anonymized excerpts for training purposes and to retain records for verification, without sharing identifying information without consent.
16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, TEFLmasters is not responsible for personal or property damages, or other liability, arising from a student's independent choice to learn to teach English via our online courses.
16.2 TEFLmasters is strictly a course provider, but does take responsibility for verifying the legitimacy of teaching practice undertakings, including contacting supervisors and/or students to confirm that practice took place as specified.
16.3 Students are responsible for any charges incurred while accessing the course, for their own actions during the course, and for confirming that the course format suits their needs before purchase.
16.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits TEFLmasters' liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable UK or EU law.
17.1 TEFLmasters does not have access to credit card details or full payment information.
17.2 All payments are processed through secure third-party processors, namely Stripe and PayPal.
17.3 TEFLmasters collects only the personal information necessary, as outlined in Section 2.2.
17.4 For complete data protection information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
18.1 TEFLmasters strives to ensure students receive the best training and service possible.
18.2 If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us by email at support@teflmasters.com, or through our contact page.
18.3 We will endeavor to resolve all complaints promptly and professionally.
19.1 Terms and conditions may change during your course enrollment period.
19.2 Changes will never impact the price of your course, the inclusions you are entitled to under your enrollment package, or the quality of course content.
19.3 Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students via email.
19.4 The version of these terms in effect at the time of enrollment applies to that enrollment.
20.1 By signing up for any TEFLmasters course, you agree to accept all of these conditions.
20.2 Enrollment in the Practical TEFL Add-On constitutes acceptance of both these general terms and the specific Practical Add-On terms outlined in Section 15.
21.1 Scope and Practical Assignment Format
This section applies to TEFLmasters courses specifically sold with a tutor-assessed Practical Assignments component. The 120-hour and 168-hour Practical Assignments courses use the same practical format: 2 lesson plans and 2 demo lesson recordings.
These practical assignments are separate from the 24-Hour Practical Teaching TEFL Add-On described in Section 15.
21.2 Tutor Feedback Times
- Lesson plans: feedback is normally provided within 24 hours. Students should allow up to 48 hours, particularly during holiday periods or unusually busy periods.
- Demo lesson recordings: feedback is normally provided within 72 hours.
These timeframes apply to complete and accessible submissions. Where a submission cannot be opened, viewed, heard, or otherwise assessed, the review period may restart when a working submission is received.
21.3 Guidance After a Second "Not Yet"
If a student receives a "not yet" outcome twice on the same practical assignment, TEFLmasters will provide additional written guidance clarifying what is required before a further attempt is made.
21.4 Outcome After a Third "Not Yet"
If a third "not yet" outcome is given on the same practical assignment after additional guidance has been provided, the Practical Assignments component will be marked as failed. This outcome applies to the practical component and does not automatically cancel successful completion of the underlying accredited TEFL/TESOL course.
21.5 Standard Course Certificate Remains Available
Provided all other required course units and assessments have been completed satisfactorily, a student who does not successfully complete the Practical Assignments component may still receive the standard certificate for the underlying course, such as the 120-hour or 168-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate.
21.6 Certificate Wording After Successful Practical Completion
Where all required practical assignments are completed satisfactorily, the certificate for the applicable course will state that practical assignments were undertaken.
This wording records completion of tutor-assessed practical work. It must not be interpreted as certification of 24 hours of live classroom or synchronous teaching practice unless the student has separately completed the Practical Teaching TEFL Add-On under Section 15.
21.7 Complimentary Alternative Training Following a Practical Fail
Where TEFLmasters' current package policy provides complimentary alternative training following a failed Practical Assignments component, the applicable extension or replacement training will be confirmed to the student at the time the fail outcome is recorded. Any activation or expiry period communicated with that offer will apply.
21.8 Refunds
No refund is provided solely because a student receives a fail outcome on the Practical Assignments component, or for unused practical submissions after that outcome is recorded. This does not affect statutory cancellation rights or any refund rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
21.9 Tutor Moderation
Practical assignment outcomes may be reviewed or moderated by TEFLmasters tutors to support consistency and fairness.
21.10 Relationship to Academic Integrity
This section governs assignment-quality outcomes and repeated attempts. Where an issue concerns suspected academic dishonesty, fabricated practical work, or prohibited AI use, Section 6 applies.
22.1 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of England and Wales, or, where applicable, the consumer protection laws of your country of residence within the EU or UK.
22.2 Where any provision in these Terms is found to conflict with your non-excludable statutory rights, your statutory rights will prevail.
22.3 If you have any concerns about how these Terms interact with your consumer rights, please contact us at support@teflmasters.com and we will be happy to clarify.
23.1 These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
23.2 The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, meaning that if you live outside England and Wales, you may still bring a claim in your country of residence where required by local consumer protection law.
24.1 If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or regulator to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
