Firstly, you will often find yourself in a school with other foreigners. While there’s no guarantee that you will get along with all of your colleagues (it’s difficult to find something in common with everybody), it is likely that you will bond well with some of your colleagues. Local teachers are also often keen to befriend EFL teachers – this gives you a chance to learn so much about your new culture, try new experiences, and maybe even learn some local language. Romance is often around the corner in workplaces but but careful not to let it interfere with your work. Aside from school, it is usually easy to meet people on Apps like Facebook (join local groups for activities like hiking or soccer) or Tinder (it can be strictly platonic). Another fun way to meet like-minded people is to join a tour conducted in English. Google searches will yield a number of different options for you. 

Yes but you will need to research what you need to do for visas and schooling. It may not always be possible but if you are determined enough then you can make it work.

When you get TEFL certified, you gain knowledge and confidence before you gain classroom experience and a foundation of knowledge from which to get better with practice. However, without putting the skills and theory into practice, you’ll forget most of your training (just like with CPR, for example), so please keep this in mind.

A TEFL course is a serious academic undertaking, so it is possible to fail, but with our feedback you should be able to pass any failed unit quizzes. If you want classroom training, we recommend a CELTA course; alternatively, take our affordable TEFL course online then gain experience in the classroom with your own students. CELTA is the best TEFL training course of all, but it’s extremely expensive and arguably offers less ‘bang for buck’ when you consider that most teachers state the real learning doesn’t happen until you’re in front of your own class. Even qualified subject teachers with UK and US teacher credentials say the same thing. Is a TEFL certification course merely a token? No, it gives you valuable training, but there’s nothing like the real thing – this is why we argue that finding the best value TEFL course is so important, which we believe we are.

For unit quizzes, it’s unlimited, because no human would have the patience to take so many guesses to complete a quiz rather than actually learn the content! Please ensure that you learn the material thoroughly before undertaking the quizzes, which utilize multiple choice and short response questions to help you assess your understanding. You may retake any failed quiz; however, the midterm and final exams are limited to 3 retakes each.
